Canberran of the Year as brought to you by the Canberra Times

Chief Minister Gallagher has happily annouced that she’s flogged off the Canberra Citizen of the Year award to the Canberra Times.

The award has been largely worthless after Jon Stanhope prostituted it out to everyone who was in Canberra on 18 January 2003, and everyone in Rotary a few years after that. But now the long suffering award serves as a billboard too.

But if you’d like to nominate someone the forms are available online.

Feel free to share your thoughts on nominations in the comments.

I’d like to nominate a certain rioter, for services to Canberra’s increasingly marginalised Excessive Capitalisation and Caps Lock Communities.

Take a bow Krats!

Next year the gong can go to someone from the grammar nazi community, also declining in population but occasionally glimpsed on riot act

I Am Sorry…But I Decline The Nomination-There Are More Worthy Among Us.

Covered this last year and was surprised how many people got a medal for long stays of living here.

Someone nominate JB, he deserves a nod for services to online media in the ACT.

Yes JB,Or The Bloke Up The Road Who Looks After The Local Park,Or…There Are Heaps Of People Who Should Be Nominated. This Award Should Only Be For Canberrans Who Do Good Work In The Community For The Community.

Exclude Politicians,Business Leaders,Sporting Figures And The Like…Which Leaves Us…The Ones Who Are Most Deserving Of Such An Award.

In My Opinion.
