Farrah’s Liquor Collective (FLC) is a growing Canberra business with a new approach to liquor retail, and this weekend, the team is throwing open their doors and inviting you to sample their very own ‘hottest 100’ favourite wines from their collection.

It’s shaping up to be a huge event, and it’s all happening on Saturday, 26 October from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Farrah’s Liquor Collective in Fyshwick.

Owner Matt Farrah

Owner Matt Farrah says FLC is taking a different approach to liquor retail.

Founder Matt Farrah says it’s all about bringing the consumer closer to the people behind the products.

“Put simply, we’re here to change the way people buy wine,” said Matt.

“In this day and age, more then ever before, people care where the products they’re buying are coming from.

“I don’t think people want to pay for slick marketing and polished shopfronts. I think they want good advice, good products, and real value and savings. And that’s what my business is all about. We’re not a glossy and expensive retail shop in a mall – we’re a local business in a warehouse outlet in Fyshwick.

“What that means is we can bring a huge range of products to the customer, including trusted local wines as well as other Australian and international brands, at incredibly good prices.

“With our unique producer-to-consumer model, it’s a chance to try these amazing wines at prices Canberrans will find hard to believe,” he said.

More than 100 wines can be tasted this Saturday

More than 100 different wines are available for tasting at FLC this Saturday.

At what is sure to be one of the biggest wine tasting events the Canberra region has ever seen, you’ll have a rare opportunity to sample wines from an extraordinary range of makers and different varieties.

Just as importantly, tasting is free, so you can save pennies to spend on a bottle (or two) of your favourite drops.

Matt said his approach to wine-selling benefits both customers and wine producers.

“By cutting out the cost of bringing these wines to market, we make it more accessible to producers, and we are able to pass those savings on to our customers who also get to try wines that have never before been seen on Canberra retail shelves,” said Matt.

“That’s what Saturday’s event is all about – it’s a huge undertaking for us, but we really want to offer something special to the Canberra community, and this is a great way to get new customers through the door for the first time, as well as encourage our existing loyal customers to try some new varieties,” he said.

There's a huge range of wine on show at FLC
