Canberra’s Charmyne Palavi hits the big time

By johnboy 12 May 2009 220

One of the stars of last night’s much talked about 4 Corners program “Code of Silence” about sex and the National Rugby League was Canberra spray tan artiste, and mother of three, Charmyne Palavi. You can see her video at this link.

This prompted me to do some cursory googling which found some interesting backstory on the famed “NRL Cougar”.

Facebook was even more illuminating.

The Charmyne Palavi Appreciation Society has a bare 29 members and opens thusly:

All you haters out there making fake profiles and surrounding your life around hers (commenting on her constantly) only proves one thing – jealousy.

On the other hand one can also join CHARMYNE PALAVI IS A LYING HEAD CASE which 111 people have opted to do. It has this to say:

    THIS CHICK IS CRAZY.
    SHE LIES.
    SHE IS A THIEF
    SHE IS A WHORE
    SHE IS UGLY
    SHE IS ORANGE

I suspect more than anything she’s enjoying all the attention.

What’s Your opinion?

The real question is: is Caitie the poster’s real first name, and did her parents deliberately choose to spell it that way?

It’s an interesting one, Celtic in fact. You may known that Sinead’ is pronounced “Shin-ade”, and Myfanwy is pronounced “Mer-Van-oY”? Caitie is actually pronounced “Bo-ghan”

You need a permit to keep a dog in this Territory but anyone can go and breed these people …

Lay off. She’s an Australian Citersin, use just don’t understand.

Geez Tooks, a really basic sentence and you still fail. You’ve used capitals correctly, correctly spelt ‘off’, placed an apostrophe in ‘she’s’ and ‘don’t’, and used punctuation in a coherent manner.

I don’t know how people can go past the inventive use of punctuation..

The real question is: is Caitie the poster’s real first name, and did her parents deliberately choose to spell it that way?

Caitie – Putting the “Sin” in “Australian Citersin”

I suppose she is on the doll too LOL

Lay off. She’s an Australian Citersin, use just don’t understand.

My personal favourite: ‘coz im my beleive thats what a cougar is’.

gold.

Surely a post that bad can’t be genuine? Then again who could make stuff like that up?

Oh well whatever. I think I will take the posters advice and ‘get a life, and stop makeing other peoples life misarable..’

Randomly placed commas – check.
Failure to capitalise sentence lead words – check.
Random use of caps lock – check.
Multiple exclamation marks and question marks – check.
Use of “leet speak” – check.
Poor vocabulary – check.
Criminal disregard for the purity of English lexicon – guilty as charged.

Meets all the criteria for rant of the week.

I was under the impression the use/ewes would be spelt “youse”; but it is always difficult to encapsulate pure boganity in the written form.

Funny, when ever I hear that “word” I imagine it spelt “ewe’s” (apostrophe intentional). You do not often see it in print though.

I find it interesting that she appears to think that if we all had a slightly clearer understanding of what a “cougar” is, we would likewise be more understanding of Ms Palavi.

“an Australian Citersin”

This was my favourite part.
Well done to you for a carefully worded post. I enjoyed every moment of it.

Caitie I was going to mention that Charmyne seems the joke while her fiance seems the fool while waiting for Dexter to declare a perfect match but the real world needs me right now.
