Canberra's CJ Bowerbird takes the Australian Poetry Slam

The Australian Poetry Slam has word on Facebook that Canberra’s own CJ Bowerbird has been crowned the Australian Poetry Slam Champion for 2012.

And now presenting… CJ Bowerbird our new Australian Poetry Slam Champion.

It certainly makes me feel better about the arse kicking he gave me in the ACT Final.

ACT heats convenor Andrew Galan had this to say:

CJ Bowerbird has written and rehearsed to win the Australian Poetry Slam for as long as I have known him. And it is great to see a Canberran go through the Bad!Slam!No!Biscuit! heats and final and win. Congratulations to CJ Bowerbird.

I look forward to seeing CJ immortalised in a bar mural ala Omar Musa in Knightsbridge until recently.

Possibly without the punching by drunk punters Omar’s likeness received.
