The Dutton Rally is holding its NSW leg this weekend. The action is largely taking place in the Canberra region:

The event comprises over 30 individual driving exercises and will be based in Goulburn, NSW. Wakefield Park, Fairbairn Park and Sutton Road venues have been confirmed for both Friday and Saturday.

Dan Cummins from Cummins racing, a Canberra based team, has been in touch with us to talk about their involvement:

As part of the event I am raising awareness for Heart Kids Australia (www.heartkids.org.au) in memory of my little brother William that died of a congenital heart defect at the age of 12½, he always loved cars and would have loved to have had the chance to attend something like this. We have put signage on the car for HeartKids and are giving out brochures to anyone interested.

So keep your eye out for Daniel if you’re at the rally or just check out Heart Kids.

Is there any more information available for spectators?

I cant see the insurance company covering that unless you can take out some expensive event insurance I guess. As an aside Porsche are one of the only manufactures that warranty their cars for use on race tracks like on drive days and advanced driving courses.

They are using the Hillclimb Friday and Saturday – with a bit of rain, a few of the first timers may find it a daunting ribbon to keep an overpowered and under tyred road car on…

I watched a 911 Turbo thumb the tyre wall there about 3 years ago when the co driver mistook her ability and a lack of grip due to the cold track. Expensive mistake

Yeah those EVOs have shamed plenty of expensive machinary in the past.

Martin Notaras from Monash could be a very strong contender for outright. Indecently quick in his Evo.

Pity Canberra couldnt get hold of a GT3RS but the Maggot is better then nothing I guess.

I would usually go and check out this event, but will be interstate this weekend. 🙁

I used to work with Dan and it’s heart-warming to see he still loves his Magnas.
