The Canberra times is letting rip with a report that Simon Corbell has inlcuded a new psychiatric emergency centre for The Canberra Hospital in his new version of a hospital shake up.

The Canberra Hospital has been shook up more often than a ten year old on Canberrys Fair Gravitron under this bloke, but at least our services are not as bad as this effort.

In Soviet Canberra, the lunatic runs the asylum.

He went to a private mental health facility, but as you all know, not many people can afford to do that.

Good call, Seepi! Where indeed did Simon go when he ‘disappeared’ for a while?

Where id Simon go when he was depressed?

My favourite “excuse” is “you’re doing well with your doctor and psych” but if a person has presented and they have self-harmed, then one would immediately assume that they aren’t doing well.

A couple of weeks ago a guy jumped through apparently “non-breakable” glass to get away at the PSU. I’ve been in there to visit someone and it is not a pretty sight.

Perhaps things would be fixed more quickly if Mr. Stanhope or any politician for that matter had to go there for treatment.

They need to start from scratch and be prepared to spend some fucking money to get it right.

How can it be called an “escape” if a patient has walked out the open front door?

I am hesitant about this new “ward”.

Given that several people I know have been turned away by PSU and Ward 2N (at Calvary) but needed help i.e. self-harming, suicidal, I don’t see it as a positive. (They were turned away as there were a lack of beds)

Perhaps more money should be spent on Mental Health than the piecemeal attitude that has existed in the past.

I hear from a reliable source that the existing Psyciatric Emergency Service, the Canberra after hours free legal service, welcomes these developments. Apparently so does the Harbringer of the Apocolypse, and the Angel of Death.
