A quick shout out for debutant Test cricketer and local lad Nathan Lyon who took 5 for 34 in his debut against Sri Lanka at Galle last night. Not a bad effort for just his sixth first class match!

Given Lyon is so new to the international scene there may a few that have not heard of him before. He was born in Young, played his junior cricket in Canberra and now plays for South Australia at state level.

I’m not involved in the local cricket scene at all, but given Lyon’s past here I’m sure there are some readers who will have first hand accounts. If so, please share them.

Holden you must be pleased after your message of 2 Sept 2011, that Nathan is still bowling them down for our test team.

Surely he’s a shoe-in for an endorsement deal with Lion Nathan.

If he has any decent taste in beers, he wont touch them.

Are there really people who are interested in cricket? Cricket? Really?

Say it isn’t so.

We don’t like cricket.

We love it!!

Superb C&B!!

Oh yeah, in all the excitement I forgot to mention that Lyon took a wicket with his very first ball in Test cricket. Just the second Australian to do that, apparently.
