Canberra’s one-day yoga micro-retreat is back to celebrate its 10th anniversary, providing the perfect opportunity to step away from hectic schedules and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit.

Set at Canberra’s scenic and spectacular Boathouse by the Lake, the Yoga Big Day Out is a great opportunity to experience all of the benefits of a yoga retreat without having to travel outside of Canberra.

Always hosted in a scenic location that incorporates Canberra’s natural beauty with healthy, vegetarian catering using produce from the local region, the Yoga Big Day Out is managed by two of the original founding teachers Ramone Bisset and Muriel Macé.

Founder of the event Ramone Bisset from Wild Sage Wellbeing has brought together a day of pampering, yoga, wellness education and relaxation for people of all ages. Ms Bisset believes the benefits of attending a mini-retreat like the Yoga Big Day Out are significant.

“The Yoga Big Day Out is one of my favourite events to host and teach as it’s amazing to see how just one day away from the distractions of daily life can positively impact the way someone feels,” she said. “I love being able to give people access to the benefits of a yoga retreat in a way that’s affordable and accessible for those that can’t travel far from home.

“It’s also a great way to connect with people from the local community with similar goals and interests.”

From 8:30am-4 pm, four teachers will expertly guide guests through a range of both strong and restorative yoga practices. The afternoon is based on learning asana in a workshop-style environment and the afternoon focuses on rest and recovery with restorative yoga and guided meditation accompanied by a live musician.

A great way to learn to mentally and physically challenge your limits with expertly guided instruction, learn ancient techniques for stress reduction, mood management and inner peace despite the chaos of modern life and experience how the wisdom of Yoga can help you live a calmer, more balanced and joyful life.

The day is fully catered with seasonal, delicious and healthy vegetarian food sourced from the local region. The Yoga Big Day out is a great way to deepen your understanding of Yoga and enjoy some relaxing time out in the stunning surrounds of Lake Burley Griffin.
