Police seized 16 plants and 600 grams of packaged cannabis after raiding a house in Wanniassa yesterday. Also found were a shot gun, a replica gun, and ‘drug paraphernalia’ which I will assume was a gun shaped bong.

Interestingly they proclaim they also found a “shot gun”. Personally, I have more faith in the tooth fairy and Santa existing. Some resources well spent, ACT government. Next time just put some white vans around some blind corners and raise some revenue please.

You’ve been on this site for 3 minutes and already you are the biggest imbecile here.

He had been around for a while and always with the conspiracy theory’s. he is sort of the opposite of you, one is a conspiracy nut and the other is a blind rah rah police are always right media type.

You are a goose. I’ve never been a “police are always right” type. I’ve been critical of them before (the most recent time being this week) and have encouraged numerous posters to make a complaint due to issues they’ve aired on this site over the years.

If you want to make a comment on me, at least make it an educated one.

Son, I only deal in facts!

I surrendered an illegal firearm that turned up among the possessions of a deceased friend last year. It was…ahem…a highly unusual piece of kit, and the cops at the registry were glad to see it because it was a better specimen than the one they had. When I asked what this was all about, they said that most police trainees had never seen any sort of firearm at all, so they had a large museum of all sorts of guns that the trainees were shown, so that if they ever saw one they would actually be able to recognise it for what it was.

So, improbable though this may be, perhaps when the cops said they’d found a shot gun, what they meant was that they’d realised that they’d actually found a real live firearm that shoots shot shells. The sort that of shells that could cut you in half at social encounter ranges. Perhaps it’s not a good thing to have criminals running around armed with such weapons, and perhaps this bust was a good thing.

If by ‘encourage’ you mean telling people their grievances are BS if they haven’t been aired formally. Because we all know the police carry out internal investigations with utter transparency and a tenacious desire to root out the bad seeds within. I don’t think I’m anti-police in principal, I still have a great respect for most individuals in the profession, but I certainly don’t think they’re perfect or that the structure of the organisation couldn’t do with some serious review.

Maybe when they found they drug paraphenalia (most likely a Bong and not some exotic, marijuana enema device) they noticed a hole in the bong and asked what it was used for.

Its the shotty, Constable.

Bang, its now drugs AND weapons charges.
