Check out these videos from a local Canberra bike-rider turned runner.

If she gets to $3000 in sponsorship she’ll make another one of her hilarious videos.

Get her to $10000 and she’ll wear the whole pink outfit during the Mother’s Day Classic.

Well, I’ve never really had time to be honest, Deckard. We pay the registration, which was around $60 for the family last year, I think, and buy merchandise. I got a top and my favourite pink socks, so I hope that helps the cause.

It was probably the best organised event I’ve ever been to actually. I enjoyed the beautiful walk around part of the lake, the camaraderie amongst the walkers and the endorphins from the exercise were a great way to start the day. The lake is just magnificent at this time of year.

It was also nice to have my family around me.

We enjoyed it so much last year that one of my daughters offered to pay the registration this year as a Mothers’ Day gift, since we are still unemployed and a little more challenged financially than usual.

But I really appreciate you asking, thank you. I would be grateful for any money that can be donated to the cause. My mum had breast cancer fourteen years ago, and research is so important to us all. Even if you don’t suffer directly, we’ve all had that friend or loved one who has had to stare death in the eye and face this awful battle. It’s just too horrible, really.

There are so many needs and so many worthy causes that sometimes it’s hard to know what to support, but somebody once told me that the need that’s in front of you is the need that you meet, and I have found that helpful in deciding where to focus my energies and resources.

You can’t fight every battle or take on every cause, but you can fight the ones that are thrust in front of you.

This one is kind of personal to me.

Phew! Thank goodness the poor lass wasn’t asking for sponsorship for a recumbent cycling race. I can only imagine the vitriol that may have ensued 🙂

I look forward to seeing more movies! Pink is the new black.

I agree my vids are completely lamo. Just my effort to raise money so we can fight breast cancer, which has affected many of us. So far my friends and I have raised $2000. No need to sponsor me – you can support others and the cause at: http://www.mothersdayclassic.org/home/donate/

Ned, furher to my post at #3, I can now see it’s a serious attempt so good on you. Like Thumper, I also support various cancer related causes during the year and wish you well. I hope you get to your target.

Ignore the cynics; for everyone person that thinks your video’s are ‘lame’ there will be others who think you are doing a great job of raising awareness – go Nerida!! Hope you get your $10,000.

Are you taking sponsors Granny?

I’m walking in the Mothers’ Day Classic again this year. I really admire people who seek sponsorship! I’ll keep an eye out for you. Best of luck!

any info on someone else we can sponsor instead?

Can I be the first to say that this is really lame…

+1. I’m left feeling it’s a complete p*ss-take rather than a serious effort to raise funds for a worthy cause. I hope for the later but fear it’s the former.
