Canvas stretching and framing

I have just purchased a painting and need to get it “mounted or stretched” onto a frame and would like to hear from other rioters where is a good cheap place in Canberra to get it done?

From what I have heard the price can vary greatly depending where you get it done.

Also does anyone know how long I can safely have it stored in pvc tubing (its rolled up) or should I have it laying flat on a table?

Bob at Classic Framing in Mawson is great. Really knows his stuff for framing – was able to answer all of my questions – and is very friendly and personable. I would recommend them to anyone

The Framing people in Queanbeyan opposite the pub up the top of Crawford St where it turns into Uriarra Rd were very helpful and much cheaper than anyone else. Don’t be put off by the shop appearance. They do high quality stuff. Been there a few times now.

I recently had a couple of large canvas photo prints (20×30″ stretched and framed at Canlab at the end of City Walk in Civic. I can’t remember the exact price, but I think it was around $150 per photo. I was very happy with the service though – they did a good job.
