CAP still alive, and hissing at the Greens

That is not dead which can eternal lie. / And with strange aeons even death may die.

The Community Alliance Party’s website is showing signs of life!

Despite a disappointing electoral showing last October they’re celebrating their 1st birthday and taking aim against their true enemies… The Greens!

At its recent membership meeting, the Community Alliance renewed its resolve to monitor the decisions of the minority Labor government and its interaction with its “life-support”, the Greens, whose leader has finally admitted what the Greens had continually denied throughout the ACT elections, that the “Greens policy objectives and Labor policy objectives are not too far apart.” The Community Alliance deplores the deceit that the Greens deliberately played upon an ACT electorate that was looking for an alternative to a tired but arrogant Labor government.

The citizens of the ACT now have to endure the Greens attempts to force through their petty whims, with the backing of ACT Labor, in order to dictate the behaviour of Canberrans. The Community Alliance will oppose Green attempts to micro-manage Canberrans and foist on them impractical, ideological and costly proposals dictated from Green Central.

The Community Alliance will continue to keep the wider public informed of its policies and assessments of the performance of the Labor/Green alliance notably through its webpage, newsletter to its 300 members and party meetings.

Well thank God for that!

Actually I see their point. Lots of people voted for the Greens as an alternative voice (not necesssarily for their green policies) as people are pretty sick of a dictatorial govt and impotent, whining opposition. It is pretty annoying, therefore, to see them ‘sell out’ on that ‘third voice’ aspect time and again to the far more politically savvy Govt.

Bring back Michael Moore!

The greens are in Labors back pocket, both religiously & politicaly. They are scared of alone decion making & would be the neediest christians of them all.

Apparently the ‘Voting for an Ersatz-Moderate-Left when the electorate don’t like the Current Moderate-Left and don’t want the Liberal Alternative Government’ which Canberra saw at the last election wasn’t what Canberrans wanted?

Care to spell that out a bit more?

That is not dead which can eternal lie

Quiet apt for describing politics, I thought.
*waits for the gnashing of teeth when people realise where its from*

Ontopic:

Iä! Iä! Shub-Niggurath! Iä!

Phew…sorry. Went a bit insane there for a second.

As opposed to say joining forces with Mr. Zed Hasn’t Got a Clue?

So 300 people plus johnboy? That’s not really what I’d call ‘the wider public’… (unless they’re having a crack at someone’s weight!)

So let me get this straight… they’re unhappy with the Greens both for:

1) Supporting Labor policies; and

2) Pushing their own policies.

Presumably the CAPs view is that Green voters were really looking to support anything non-Labor and non-Green. Curious.
