Last night the Canberra Capitals smacked down the Bulleen Boomers in a thrilling 60-52 victory to win the nation’s capital the honour of hosting the WNBL grand final yet again – we haven’t had it for a couple of years now (since 2003). Thank god I don’t have to travel to the likes of Dandenong again to see them win the title!
The precise timing of the GF isn’t nailed down yet (something to do with ABC tv rights and a Brumbies game being on that weekend too) but it’ll be at the AIS arena. I will be sure to update the details here as they come to hand, for those interested. The crowd was pretty impressive last night so I wouldn’t be surprised if the GF was a sell out.
Come along and cheer the Caps on their 5th WNBL championship title in the ‘noughties! They truly are our #1 sporting team IMHO – that’ll get some comments if nothing else 😉
