Caps into the finals

johnboy 11 February 2007 3

AdelaideNow (the silly News Limited online rebranding of the Adelaide Advertiser) is wailing and gnashing its teeth that our Capitals thumped their Lightning last night 82-74.

All the lightning striking was obviously going on outside the arena last night (incidentally how did the parking work out with the Brumbies game also on?)

Now, on to the final against Sydney, after a couple of thumpings by them it’ll be a tough assignment.

had no problems at all getting a park before the game and it was also smooth sailing getting out after. game was fantastic, there was a good crowd there too.

it is very disappointing about the flames using such a small venue for a grand final – half the seating capacity of the GF in dandenong last year and of course GF tickets were on sale last week for flames fans to snap up while canberra fans waited to see how the second semi played out on the weekend!

go caps for another GF final victory!!!!

The game started at 4pm and they had things set up pretty well to get Caps people in and out while the Brumbies people were coming in.

The match announcer was also directing people to head out through Leverrier to Ginninderra Dr when exiting, presumably to keep the other entrance free for Brumbies fans (unless that’s closed off as part of the GDE stuff…)

But yes – great result with some great work for the Caps from every team member that stepped on the court – particularly Abrams and Bibby. Beatty impressed in defense as always, and good work all round from Bishop and Bevilaqua.

There was a presentation prior to the start of the game from Eleanor Sharp (former Caps skipper) to Abrams (current Caps skipper). Abrams was playing her 180th game for the Caps, making her the most Caps player after surpassing Sharp’s record.

Go get ’em in the final Caps.

parking was fine for Caps game – and the result was great – but Its really disappointing Flames are playing the final in only a 1000 seat stadium at Penrith
