car chase

Just received from a workmate via Facebook:

Just got passed by a car chase on the way out of Canberra! One blue car flat out followed by 2 cop bikes, 3 D cars, 4 marked cars, road stingers on the roads, plus cop 4WDs on the roadside.

Then:

They got him! Blew his tyres out.

Can we persuade Magistrate Chris Bone to move the to the ACT? Four months inside sounds about right.

Or maybe just sub-contract our judicial services to QBN?

A-ha-ha-ha!
Look at his profile pic! I wonder how many of his d1ck photos police found on his phone? 😀

He should have given up and surrendered to police in the ACT if he was smart. Would have got a 3 month good behaviour bond which wouldn’t have been enforced anyway, rather than the 4 months jail the Queanbeyan magistrate dished out.

My colleague reported seeing him barefoot, handcuffed and lying on the ground as they went through the roadblock.

That’s what they seem to do when they catch a miscreant, squash them into the road.

The best part of this would have been what the police did to him when they finally pulled him out of the car ( I am in no way suggesting that cops would have used excessive force) BUT – they would have been very displeased. hehe.

My colleague reported seeing him barefoot, handcuffed and lying on the ground as they went through the roadblock. The photo was all they could snap as they whipped past. Zoomed in as much as we could, it clearly wasn’t a Summernats car – tyres were far to skinny!

No doubt fingers were wagged vigorously and no supper was provided.

I was stopped at a red light on Majura Rd turning right onto Fairbairn Ave when the said blue car whizzed past from behind, pursued by a car and 2 bikes. It then careered left onto Morshead Dr, _southbound_. It got all the way back up to Lake George via the Federal Highway?! That is a looooong car chase.

The man allegedly has a cancelled learner’s permit in Victoria and the vehicle was bearing false NSW registration plates.

What some people will do for Summernats.

Shouldnt that be ‘ACT Policing’ rather than ‘Australian Federal Police’? If even the NSW police media mob dont know the difference, its no wonder most Canberrans dont.

Nah it’s AFP in Canberra

“ACT Policing is a business unit of the AFP and was created for the purpose of providing policing services to the ACT under the auspices of a Policing Arrangement between the Commonwealth and ACT Governments”.

It’s still the AFP.

Nineteen years old, speeding, fail to stop, cancelled learners permit and fake plates. There’s a bright future ahead of this lad.

I would hope that the penalty for this sort of crap would be severe, but I have my doubts. 🙁

From the NSW Police FB page.

Man arrested after failing to stop for police near Lake George
by NSW Police Force on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 3:31pm
A man is being questioned after allegedly failing to stop when directed to on the Federal Highway near the NSW/ACT border.

About 10.26am today (Saturday 7 January 2012), Monaro Highway Patrol allegedly detected a blue Holden Commodore sedan travelling at 130km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Federal Highway at Bywong.

Police activated lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver allegedly failed to comply.

Police followed the vehicle into the ACT, where Australian Federal Police assisted NSW Police.

Officers used road spikes in an attempt to stop the vehicle in the ACT, however the Commodore travelled back into NSW via the Federal Highway.

NSW police deployed road spikes and stopped the car near Lake George.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station where he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

The man allegedly has a cancelled learner’s permit in Victoria and the vehicle was bearing false NSW registration plates.

Investigations are continuing.

“One blue car flat out followed by 2 cop bikes, 3 D cars, 4 marked cars, road stingers on the roads, plus cop 4WDs on the roadside…

…And a partridge in a pear tree” 🙂

I can’t wait to hear the story behind this. That’s some serious police effort.

It was also reported by a Gungahlin resident on Horse Park Drive.

Busted!

Any other details?

I saw the car chase too. The car did a U turn just after the petrol station on the Federal Highway, there were at least 3 cop cars on Majura road with road spikes waiting incase the blue car went that way.
