ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision on Lander Crescent in Amaroo last night (Tuesday, December 6), after a vehicle left the road and struck a house.

About 8.00pm police were called to the address where they located a vehicle lying on its roof in the rear yard of the property. The house was not damaged however extensive damage was caused to the fencing and rear garden.

It is believed the driver of the silver Holden Commodore Acclaim sedan, had been driving erratically prior to the collision. Four people were seen running from the vehicle following the incident.

ACT Policing’s Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are investigating the incident.

If you witnessed a vehicle matching this description driving erratically last night in Amaroo, or you know the identity of the occupants, you are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Currently going through a similar situation with someone trying to outrun the police (in a Laser no less) and running into my fence. Not too distraught – I now get a new fence. Problem is the car is still there. I don’t believe it is stolen so presumably it is up to the owners to remove it. Only thing is, how long is should I wait before having it taken away (can I?). Before anyone says five minutes or anything equally unhelpful, I would like to avoid a situaiton like bogan invasion throwing rocks through my windows because there car isn’t where they ‘left’ it. Has anyone got any useful advice (though useless is welcome as long as it is amusing!).

Can you roll, drag or other wise move it off your property? Leave it legally parked out the front and the owners shouldn’t have anything to complain about.

What street do you live on? I’d like to see!

not sure I would want to keep it…who knows what condition it is in.

They have certainly made a mess of that fence.

Like Grandstand said if it was on a night when people were in the street looking at Christmas lights, then this story could be a whole lot worse.

These idiots also had 2 mates in a another car trailing them. They returned soon after the other 4 had fled. The driver of the 2nd car got out holding a goon bag and was clearly drunk.
If this happened in a week’s time it could have been a different story as we might have been talking about an innocent fatality. All the houses on Gara Pl and Lander Cres have Christmas Lights displays. The traffic and pedestrians are everywhere at night leading into Christmas in this area.
The cops should throw the book at these fools.
