Attended the American Car Nationals at the Queanbeyan Showground today. Like many Canberrans, I love seeing all the beautifully restored, prepped and polished cars on display. A clear highlight was the gorgeous Corvette pictured…

The main problem with car shows is that I usually miss them and find out about them after they’ve happened. This is probably because these are volunteer run events with low relative budgets, and advertising is fairly limited.

So, what car shows happen in the ACT region at approximately what times of the year?

There was one last week

German Autofest – late September.
Auto Italia – late March.

Wheels and Marques in the Park would be the major ones (and Summernats too I guess).

Best place to keep track is the ACT Motor Clubs.

Although not complete its roughly:
January – Summernats
March – Shannons Wheels, Auto Italia
September – Queanbeyan American Cars, German Auto Fest
November – Marques in the Park
December – Terribly British Day

German Auto Fest. Seems to happen every year on the 3rd weekend / Sunday in September (last weekend). On the lawns of the National Library.

Canberra’s Car show season kicks off in September and runs through until about March.

The ones that I can remember coming up are;

MG TYme
Capital Jam
Small Ford Show
French Car day @ Telopea Park Fete
Ute Muster @ Country Music Festival
Marques in the Park
Chippas Main St Cruise & Show n Shine
