Carney follows time honoured League traditions

Thumper 21 December 2006 10

The SMH is reporting that Raiders Canberra player Todd Carney has been charged with driving offences after allegedly doing burnouts while under the influence of alcohol.

Good one Todd, pull your head in and get back to playing football. This is not a good career move.

I guess I have to answer that so…

1. Turn your humour meter on.
2. Carney needs to pull his head in. Two DUI’s, burnouts. Idiotic for someone who is a public figure.
3. Yes, if I find a story about the Brumbies or the pansies or whomever, I will post it.
4. What is the issue here? My title or Carney’s indescretions?
5. I quite liked the title. It was better than just writing ‘Carney goes DUI.’
6. Yes, I am a Raiders fan, saw their very first game and their very first win, 14-6 (?) over Newtown, Kenny Wilson couldn’t kick a goal that day to save his life.

I should add that in no way do I wish to excuse Carney getting charged twice for drink driving in one year. He ought to focus himself on football, otherwise it could be a case of a huge waste of talent.

What a pathetic title for this story… mungo and bogan references. Honestly, how about the heap of Brumbies that have got drunk on tour, “borrowed” taxis etc etc? Do we have stories titled “X follows time honoured Union traditions” then?

I guess the utter boganity of Carney’s act is topped off by it’s location…..Goulburn.

2nd drink driving conviction and he is 20 years old. What a total dickhead

Last league game I attended was the Raiders against the Bulldogs out at Queanbeyan – must have been like 1987. From memory the raiders went down.

I do, however, quite regularly go to Raiders home games as, although it is a sport for the boganate, I am a union/league boy.

I sit at Bruce and long for the days of Clyde, Stuart, Daley, Meninga et al…..and the days we had a local comp that fed quality players into the Raiders ranks

It is indeed a pleasure having us in agreement until our next little spat

Says it all really. Must thank the Lord every day for League being invented. Would be lucky to be a toilet cleaner otherwise
