Carney on! Enough's enough.

Maybe its just giving oxygen to a story that’s had enough, but I have to rant. I couldn’t believe that the C.Times ran a FULL BACK PAGE story on some loser playing in some minor football game in north Queensland on the weekend.

It’s not as if there wasn’t enough other sport in Canberra over the weekend to report on. Even Tireless Tim, who I think is a champion sports commentator, was going on about it.

Please leave Todd Carney to the cane toads. (And go the Raiders, tonight.)

So he’s changed his name to Toad Caney?

@Nosey, yes, my first thought when I saw this thread was: “I’m so sick of discussion about Todd Carney that I need to start a new discussion to tell everyone!”

Let’s stop mentioning him in any threads…

How bout those awesome Caps?

Who went to the bbq in the City today?

When was the last time you saw an alcoholic going into a newsagents seeking beer?

Spose it depends on how pissed he is.

Just sitting here waiting for him to screw up in Atherton. It’s going to happen soon.

The fun part is guessing how’ll he do it…….We should start a poll.

My money is on DUI.

Watching Carney implode his career has been like watching a train wreck. Let’s stop looking now.

How often do we get to watch a train wreck like this one? Can’t think why we’d want to stop looking. Oh, unless it’s another player free-falling into the gutter – nothing less newsworthy than yesterday’s train wreck.

His new employer has had more air time that the navy divers. His fifteen minutes has been way too long.

And hetzjagd1, no doubt there is some ‘public interest’, but it’s prurient at best. Watching Carney implode his career has been like watching a train wreck. Let’s stop looking now.

And again, go the Raiders!

For the love of god… Mark Parton even interviewed Carney’s new employer (at his new football club and pub) this AM. I listened just because the whole thing was so bad. The guy kept telling Parton that working in a the pub is no different from working in a newsagents, so Carney is safe from the evils of drink. LOL. When was the last time you saw an alcoholic going into a newsagents seeking beer?

The guy is thankfully now out of Canberra and I beleive even banned from his home town under a court order (how good is that!). Now that he’s in a land far far away can we make RA a Carney free zone?

I think you’re expecting a bit more quality content than that rag of a newspaper usually provides :/ While a lot of people may be sick of hearing about him it isn’t a stretch of my imagination as to if there is a public interest in what he is getting up to post-Raiders. A full page is a bit much, agreed, but its the Canberra Times and they’re like that
