By johnboy 11 October 2013 1

Canberra’s all conquering BMX bandit Caroline Buchanan has been listed in the nominees for the 2013 Athlete of the Year!

Six of Australia’s best athletes have been named as finalists in the 2013 Athlete of the Year award to be announced at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.

In line with Australia’s Winning Edge 2012-2022 strategy for high performance sport, the award categories have been expanded in 2013.

Eligible athletes include either those who were on an AIS scholarship at the time of their sporting achievement or were eligible for Direct Athlete Support.

Caroline Buchanan (cycling –BMX), Matthew Cowdrey (swimming), Cate Campbell (swimming), Evan O’Hanlon (athletics), Kim Crow (rowing) and Alex “Chumpy” Pullin (snowboard) will all vie for the honour of being named athlete of the year on November 14.

Good luck to her!
