Cars torched in civic

By Thumper - 28 March 2008 8

The Cooma Bombala Express (Yes, it exists and no, I’m not making it up) is reporting that a Cooma woman, here in canberra for the folk festival, had her car torched while in the long-term car park opposite the Canberra Theatre.

“It was like a war zone,” she said.

“My car was completely burnt out and there were three other burnt out cars and six cars had been smashed up without being burnt.

What sort of person does this for a laugh? Seriously?

What’s Your opinion?

Since it was a car from Cooma, it probably had a late backfire, and simultaneously caught on fire. The jalopy then probably set the other cars on fire as the benzine started leaking over the carpark – an inherent risk when you are not parking on grass or dirt like in Cooma.

The damaged cars, well Jethro will be a hooligan when he sees fire. He’s never been the same since that visit to Auntie Jezebel’s when he was 10.

It was covered in the CT earlier this week (Tuesday, I think).

Did this make any local news?

The same sort of cretin that torches three light aircraft on the Tralee airstrip.
