Catching the last wave, Canberra to open Shanghai trade office.

A day late and a dollar short, ABC Online is reporting that our fair city is to open a trade office in Shanghai, a good decade after that wave has broken.

A combination of me-tooism combined with a stunning lack of imagination.

Chongqing is the next city to be opened up for special economic status, and where’s our presence in the new rising economy of India?

Incidentally I’d be happy to run the Chongqing trade office if the ACT Government wants to get rid of me, for a reasonable pay rate.

and all the Shanghai Junket we can eat…

Trade office or holiday pad? Just another excuse for MLAs and their fat cat mates to take a trip at the expense of the good folks in the ACT. As JB has pointed out, it’s a day late and a dollar short for any real benefit.

Once again; what a crock.
