CD Cabinets in Canberra?

Can anyone help me with trying to find a cabinet maker who will make me a cd cabinet?

I bought one at the Kingston bus depot markets about 15 years ago in stained pine and stained glass doors and would like another one made.

I am told the maker has moved to Hall markets but haven’t been able to track him down.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Lol CDs

Thanks for the useful suggestions. As someone said it is nice to display Cds, not as good as LPs, but they take up a lot less space and you can learn a lot about the performances etc tions.

My Deewhich you can’t from thumb drivesand dowloading.
I will make enquiries at hall this Sunday and chase up the other sugges

I keep CDs on shelves for the same reason I keep books on shelves. They look good. For many collectors, it’s not about practicality as much as presentation. If you have the space to store them, why not show them off? I have a lot more fun browsing my mates record shelves than I do scrolling through iTunes playlists.

Throw the cases out, rip them and stick them on a spindle.
I know people aren’t answering your direct question, but I just can’t help thinking that those wonderful woodworking skills should be used for a medium that’s already historical.

Old mate from Hall Markets has made several pieces for my family, but sadly I haven’t seen him at any markets in recent history.

OzCro furniture in Fyshwick will custom make pine and oak furniture, and their prices aren’t bad for bespoke work.

I’ve gone the CD box route and stored them in the spare room, while everything is digitised now, or can be digitised.

Well as the Hall Markets are on this Sunday you could seek and maybe find.

Uneke Furniture in Fyshwick made my record and book shelves. I don’t know if they do pine, but I’m sure they can direct you to someone who does.

to be honest, i think you’d get a better quality just ripping them all to hard drive, storing the CDs in a sleeve, and the paper cases in some type of scrap-book.

The technology has come a long way, it costs literally peanuts to rip a cd into the highest quality which you can therefore store on a hard drive.

Get an MP3 player, keep CDs in a cardboard box in the shed… You’re welcome 😉
