About a week back we got news that there had been a changing of the guard at CityNews. It took a while but eventually we got a response. Although not the official statement we were hoping for, outlining the circumstances of the change as apparently the Directors were keen to “not make a fuss”, we did get this from CityNews Editor Jorian Gardner;
“Yes, It’s correct that Michael Hawke no longer works with CityNews. We are very pleased to have on board our new General Manager Nick Samaras.”
Mr Hawke was not much loved by a few here at RiotACT. Should we expect a change in the content of CityNews?
Well although I could find little current on Mr Samras it appears (care of this piece back in ’04 on ABC’s AM program) a Brisbane boy by his name was the CEO of Global Intertrade. Of interest was this titbit;
“Mr Samaras, and the Spanish family which owns his company, already has one publication in Australia – the monthly Adelaide Review.
The Foreign Investment Review Board recently granted permission for the Review to be published weekly, but it’s still not allowed to contain any news items.”
