We can get channel 9 or WIN through our old analogue TV but we can’t get it through the HD telly on either SD or HD channels.

Tried through the DVD on SD as well without success.

Is anyone else experiencing this or does anyone have advice, Three & a Half Men is about to start ;)…

[ED – We had two reports of trouble with WIN last night, seems fine now]

I am having an issue with WIN and GO.
I brought a new tv, did the auto scan and WIN and GO came up but not SCTen so I did the scan again. SCTen came up but WIN and GO were not there.
I have done it another 5 times since then and WIN and GO NEVER comes up. I can get WIN on annalogue but not on the DTV settings.

Are you using an indoor aerial for this TV, or is it connected at the wall to your roof aerial?

If you’re using an indoor one, experiment by moving it around to different locations and re-scanning. I had that problem the last time we moved – old place had great digital reception, but here I can’t get SBS, and Prime/WIN and their respective channels literally breaks up at the drop of a hat. Moving the aerial around can improve some channels but lose others.. Best advice is to get a wall connection to your rooftop aerial installed, bu if it really bothers you, but bear in mind that can cost a couple of hundred bucks to have done.

Yeah I have the aerial on the roof with the new type of cables.
The thing is that both the tv in the bedroom and the lounge room are connected to the same aeriel.

I’ve been a picketer too long.. I don’t even own a sign! No one ever tells me where the protest is and I end up agreeing with everyone in the pub I got lost at.

Is there a promotion or demotion on the cards soon RA?

*winks* (I hate your smiley placements)

I certainly have my times away from the telly. Years of music has saved me. But for the last couple of years I am fully addicted again. Oh it never leaves you, like alcoholism or a heroin addiction, you are so right damien haas.

It is so soul-destroying and I unfortunately love it!

I think watching TV is an addiction like any other, and when it is cut off people react like addicts do when they need a hit.

Yep, I was unable to watch part of an old rerun of Two and Half Men.

Fortunately my wife turned over to The Biggest Loser before I had to kill myself.

I don’t understand. Turning over to the fattest loser would be a reason to kill yourself.

It’s probably what saved him!

Quote I dont watch TV anymore and suggest you do the same, its amazing how much the false reality of TV suppresses critical thinking. Read a book, surf the free internet (while its still free), go out and do something rather than stare at the idiot box.

Wow, like mind, like personality. Go Weapnox and share your thoughts.

I’ve had the same problems with Win and Go!. I just don’t bother flicking over to them any more. SBS seems to have an issue with analog reception sometimes, but the digital signal is strong. Every other channel seems to be fine.

Just to add, I have an antenna on the roof.

Gosh it only happened last night, fine now.

IMARTY What you need to do is reprogramme through the settop box, go on line to find out how this is done, type in no win channel with digital box, this is what I did, works fine now.

I’ve had heaps of trouble with 9, 10 and the ABC. Not so fussed with 10 as it isn’t worth wasting the electrons for or 9 as the only thing worth watching was the cricket and that was always on at the pub but ABC was really annoying. Turns out the ABC issue was too much power, got an attenuator and the ABC is all good. ( and 10 are still as cr8p as before though…

I bet someone from win news is reading this as we speak seeing as they seem to get 90% of their storys off here

Missed the local news.
What I always wonder about WIN is why the sound is louder, we always have to adjust the volume when switching to them.

Trunking symbols12:54 pm 08 Apr 10

The final frame of Eddie’s show froze then the screen went black for over two hours meaning we missed all the news (Sydney and local) as well as A Current Affair. Apparently the analog signal was uninterrupted, not much use to those of us who followed the govt’s advice and updated all our sets and recorders to digital. Is this what we can look forward to in the brave new world of digital broadcasting? Screens going blank when crucial programs are about to start? Not good enough, WIN.

Thats what WIN gets for not paying the electricity bill.

having the same prob with prime, WIN and Go. Whats going on?

Certainly last night Nine, NineHD and Go disappeared. Actually it wasnt so bad when you think about it……

Cannel 9 reception GOOOONE! … in my dreams

I would like to see a revamp of the TV guides in the local newspapers. They do not capture all the digital stations.

If your reception is intermittent, reorient your antenna to receive optimum signal strength. If you do not have an antenna, buy one.

sbs was a blank this morning, too – luckily espn had the fusbol on (isn’t it fantastic to see manure bundled out of europe?!)

i’m afraid i’d never notice if ch9 went…

Thank god for small mercies. At least it’s not cricket season.

Inappropriate9:53 am 08 Apr 10

Yeah, my WIN, WINHD and GO! died. But life goes on.

The tv in my room (different brand) works just fine.

I’m guessing this is an issue with my tv and that i’m gona have to take it back to Big W
would this be right?

Any thoughts anyone?

Sarah

We had the same problem but I kept auto retuning and it found Ch 9 just before Customs started at 8pm. I didn’t have any more problems but I did only watch that one program then switched over to the ABC for Spicks and Specks.

It’s too late for this to be useful now, but the Housemate was worrying our PVR (our source of Digital TV) had broken because of this last night. I think it fixed itself about the time they went to bed. Good timing 🙂

The digital channels were down, but only analogue was working, fiik why.
Win’s Digital transmission has been really patchy ever since launch.
