Charges laid after man allegedly stabbed multiple times at Queanbeyan unit block

A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing at a unit block in Queanbeyan.

Officers were told a 40-year-old man was stabbed multiple times at the residence on Lowe Street at about 8:30 pm on Saturday (21 May) by a 42-year-old man known to him.

Police said the younger man fled the scene and reported the incident at Queanbeyan Police Station.

He was then taken to Queanbeyan Hospital for treatment of injuries to his neck, head and arms.

He was in a serious but stable condition.

A few hours later, the older man was arrested on Jarrah Street at about 12:05 am (Sunday 22 May).

He was treated at Queanbeyan Police Station by paramedics for minor facial injuries.

He was later charged with wounding with intent.

He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court.
