ACT Policing has charged one man and a second man will be summonsed in relation to an aggravated robbery at the McDonalds restaurant in Dickson on Saturday 21 September 2013.

About 10.30pm, two males were seated in the outdoor area of the McDonalds restaurant in Dickson. They observed a 20-year-old male from Charnwood proceed through the drive-thru in a white Honda Prelude. A short time later the 20-year-old male approached the two males and verbally accosted them. The man then took a mobile phone from the victims and produced a blade, demanding cash. The two men surrendered a wrist watch to the man, who then fled.
A second male was also present during the aggravated robbery.

In the following week, police identified the two males believed to be involved in the aggravated robbery and later recovered the mobile phone that had been stolen.

The 20-year-old male from Charnwood was charged with aggravated robbery and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (30 September 2013).

The second male will be summonsed to appear at court at a later date.

Why did they give him the watch? He demanded cash….Idiots…

That’s how you mis-direct muggers – I did it once – they demanded cash and I was %#$@ed if I was going to give them my wad, so I slapped my pockets and pulled out a train ticket, telling them it was all I had but they were welcome to it because I could walk home from here, etcetcetc.
They aren’t in the mugging game because they are geniuses, you know.

“approached the two males and verbally accosted them”

Honestly, you couldn’t make these media releases up.

“Accost” means to approach someone and threaten them.

Why did they give him the watch? He demanded cash….Idiots…

Bugger the labor voting and working plebs from Charnwood though.

I don’t have any evidence, hard or otherwise, but I’d bet you a dollar that Charny’s a hotbed of Liberal/Palmer voters.

Where did the second male come from? Red Hill perhaps? So it wouldn’t be nice to mention it so the Red Hill residents wouldn’t get upset and and lose property values? Bugger the labor voting and working plebs from Charnwood though. You can always get a snigger from that!
