The Charnwood maccas removed the bicycle racks, now I know why, to placate the horsey mob 🙂

So has her personality changed since she became a star?
Has she asked you to rename her Black Caviar?

Her personality has changed since I bought her, but only because she’s now only being bossed around by a shetland pony called Twiggy rather than all the other ggs! She is a lot more confident and tries to dominate now rather than being the bottom of the pecking order in a herd.

Thanks, JimCharles! My pony is spoilt!!! She is much loved, well looked after and very well trained. I spend several hours a week on ground work training plus a few minutes of groundwork before each ride. I have taken on a new Shetti (above) for a companion horse who I hope to get to the same standard as my last shetti, Dolly, who did a lot of charity events and fundraising.

I do pony riding lessons on weekends at a much reduced rate (does not even cover cost) as I believe all kids should be able to have a real livestock experience no matter their economic status. Horse riding is so expensive these days and it’s barely affordable for the average family. My kids would rather be out with the animals than being inside playing on computers like so many kids these days.

We have a great relationship with the RSPCA who were there to help me with the animals while my daughter had a fall off a swing and had to have emergency brain surgery after being on life support. So the RSPCA are more than happy with the care I take of my animals. The neighbours love having the animals so close also as there are many young families around our area.

All her tack is fitted for her and replaced the minute it needs to be. Sabira even has her own chiropractor which is more than I can say for myself!

Looks like the chavs have finally made it to Charnwood.
(Language warning on the above link)

Chavs. The scourge of the underground..

Blonde hair, fake tan, ugg boots, short skirts, furry collars, and bloody annoying east end accents.

Know what I mean?

To ot carnt fink.

Yeah, but that pony isn’t chavvy….it looks like it belongs in the Cotswolds, very healthy and well looked after..
A chav’s horse is normally kept tied to a tree with a piece of old rope or left to wander round chavvy estates eating people’s lawns, then ridden bareback or tethered to a rag and bone cart.

Thanks for your comments guys… I really appreciate the enthusiasm that North Canberra has taken with Sabira. I was at Melba shops and someone who I was talking to said, “she was on the riot act”…LOL! A friend of mine also pointed out that the “neighbours” who were carrying on had only joined up that day and was probably my ex’s girlfriend! Here is a photo of my son riding Sabira

And here’s another one of her in Belconnen when I took her for a ride to meet a friend for lunch:

So when you have it ‘parked’ somewhere like that do you clean up the mess it make or just leave it for the poor staff?

I notice in the pic that it has a fair bit of slack to move about and you left it right next to the main entrance. Have you thought about what could happen when it moves accross the steps and a bunch of kids hyped up on junk food come running out, startle it and it boot a kid accross the carpark?

The well behaved horse should be inside with the annoying bloody hyped up kids tied up out the front.

well at least he’s parked between the lines…that’s more than most people at charnwood maccas

Horse poo is great fertaliser! I throw it in gardens if she does manage to make a mess.

I would not take a dangerous horse out and leave it tied up unsupervised! That is simply irresponsible! My horse has done children’s lessons from the age of 2yrs to adults and has participated in child care programes .

The picture may look like she has too much slack but she couldn’t reach the stairs as she was tied low.

Again, I have the legal right to have her on the road, tied at restaurants, shops or anywhere else! Just because it isn’t the “norm” these days doesn’t make it wrong nor does it need a great debate about about the ins and outs of it.

Enjoy the picture, enjoy the horse when you see her… most people do!

Yeah that’s what the owners of dogs that have savaged kids always say too. You can’t predict what an animal is going to do all the time, a car could backfire or something, and from the photo you can clearly see it has enough slack to move it’s back end around across the steps.

You seem very concerned about your rights but what about other people’s rights to saftey.

I am not saying riding the horse there is wrong, if you are cleaning up after it, and it is tied up in a safe place fill your boots (riding).

Funny, isn’t it, that people are so accustomed to cars (metal, large, inflexible) that they see a horse as a greater danger. With all due respect, I doubt that this horse goes as fast as my far from red-hot Camry. Nor would she cause as much damage in a collision. I’d be more worried about children running in front of cars driven by inattentive burger-munching drivers, than coming into contact with this magnificent specimen of equine beauty. She is obviously quite fond of her feed. Does she eat burgers?

Well that is a bit of a personal question, isn’t it? lol

With petrol prices going the way they are, this could be a common scene? I hope the seat isnt too high for the drive thru window.

Firstly, if anyone lets their kids run out of that maccs into a carpark where the drive through is right there then they deserve the worry and fear they will have when their kids get hit by cars. Secondly i would prefer to pick up as much horse shit as i could handle rather than serve and pick up after the horrid no teeth, tradie shirt wearing(for fashion purposes, not because you have a job) losers who are out the front of this place.

Any kid that eats at Maccas would take a fair bit of kicking across the car park and probably deserves it!

You know, that spot is reserved for my motorcycle. 🙂

Not really, my spot is opposite that one. Even though it is a perfect fit for a bike I don’t use it simply to keep the bike out of the path of the littlies as parts of it are quite hot and at kid level.

Your horse sounds placid and very friendly. I would love having it around. As long as you have control of it and clean up after it I can’t see why there would be any issues. It’s probably better behaved than a lot of the customers I’ve seen there.

Has anyone else met ‘Yanus’ (no idea how to spell it). He’s a older begal that escapes on a regular basis to head over to Maccas. I’ve escorted him home a few times and he’s really friendly. He seems to split his time between the chicken shop and McDs. Late at night there’s a really interesting tortoise shell cat there these days as well. Very skinny but a great personality.

Hmm, I think I might be spending too much time there.

Enjoy your gee gee, the light rail is coming to replace it.

I wonder if the power output is about 0.745 kW ?

Unfortunately my ex found out about this post today when I sent it to my child (who loves the animals). I just tried to message them to ask how I can assist them since all my neighbours love the animals and we are RSPCA inspected but I am blocked from messaging them. hmmmmm!

No idea what you mean… I don’t have a fake tan, furry collar, annoying accent (very Aussie though), ugg boots at home, rarely wear short skirts and brown hair! …. how does any of that relate to horse riding or getting a feed at Maccers

I decided I wanted to have the same fun as my kids have on the shettie so I bought a horse rather than a car! She has keyless entry and needs no rego!

The climate control is a bit lacking though I bet. At least it has heated seats.

A few years ago some riders from around Curtin/Lyons/Yarralumla paddocks the used to go through the Weston Macca’s drive through (or should that be ride through). And yes there was the odd payment left by a horse.

There are a few about. I go past Florey shops now and again, I’ve seen a shetland pony tied up infront of the IGA occassionally.

You won’t see her in Florey anymore, I’m afraid. I sold her on. She did a lot of charity events that my new pony (the above picture) now does.

And no, she’s not in a handicapped spot, it’s a kind of half space where a car wouldn’t fit!

LOL!!! That’s my pony… and so was the Florey IGA Shetland pony!!! Sorry guys, as horse riders we have the same right as a car on the road except at round a about! When my car was written off (by an idiot who ran a red light – I wasn’t the idiot!) I decided I wanted to have the same fun as my kids have on the shettie so I bought a horse rather than a car! Is that horse parked in a handicap spot?

I think it’s been lowered.

…and someone should tell maccas that their hitchin’ rail is sadly lacking.

Would you like a bucket of oats with those fries Sir?

It’s funny until it takes a dump. Happened less then three metres from the front door of our old shop.

That horse needs registration plates.

the owner better watch out or it could be stolen from them. Given its charny and all..

Somebody answered an ad for a Commodore GG.

maybe someone left it there free to good home.

Know what that horse needs? Euro-style numberplates.

VYBerlinaV8_is_back4:17 pm 31 May 12

Sometimes late at night they bring it back to the carpark and do burnouts.

they see me trottin’, they hatin’.

How long before it’s up on bricks with it’s legs missing?

There are a few about. I go past Florey shops now and again, I’ve seen a shetland pony tied up infront of the IGA occassionally.

Is the horse stolen?

Maccas about to introduce a Tastes of France menu?
