I’ve recently heard good things about Quizine in Phillip; affordable and healthy food prepared quickly. Sounds too good to be true but I’m pleased to tell you that it ticks all the boxes.

I visited last week for a quick lunch on my own. When I arrived I was welcomed by beautiful decor, the whole cafe is so immaculate you feel healthy just by being in there. The glass cabinet next to the counter has what seems like a whole farm of beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables, everything just looks so luscious.

Quizine’s lunchtime menu consists of fit meals that come in 125g or 200g sizes. They all have a portion of protein and a portion of salad or veggies, with selected meals containing rice. You can also build your own fit meal too which looks a bit fun. I opted for the 125g ‘tandoori trainer’, lightly grilled tandoori chicken, sweet potato mash, broccoli and carrots. The 125g meals are $12.50 and the 200g meals are $15.50.

My meal came out quickly as I was sitting down reading emails. It looked clean, fresh, and most importantly healthy! I know sometimes healthy food can be a bit bland or boring, but this meal was great.

The tandoori chicken had a good kick to it, and the veggies were cooked just the right amount – the carrot and the broccoli was soft but still had a bit of crunch to it. I think the sweet potato mash also had some pumpkin in there, yum!

I was really impressed by everything Quizine had to offer. Their menu is really reasonably priced and all their meals are fresh and the food is sourced locally. I can’t believe I’ve only recently found out about this place. I think I’ll make a Quizine lunch a weekly occurrence from here on in!

Hi Ezy

Our apologies for the unsatisfactory service you received. If you would be open to give us another try we would be pleased to see you in. If you do, ask for me (Rachel) it will be my pleasure to serve you and show you the “friendly, attentive” side that quizine has to offer ????????

Healthy I agree, but my eye is drawn quizinically to that small dish.

What is it?.

Had breakfast there once and my ‘poached eggs’ were exactly the same as ‘microwaved poached eggs’ that I’ve been unfortunate enough to have previously.

I’d rather have fried eggs than ‘poached eggs’ if they’re not poached.

I might have to do a few push ups and get my guns out before I go in next time.

Don’t take your guns to town son, don’t take your guns to town.

I recently tried this place – not impressed at all as the service was very average. It seemed all the girls were more interested in flirting with the muscle boys from the gym across the road to take our order. We were going to have a good sit down breakfast there, but were too put off and got out of there with an ordinary smoothie.

Oh no, that sounds terrible! The girls that served me on my visit were lovely and attentive.
