Cheetahs demolish Brumbies 38-20

Keo is exultant over last night’s 38-20 smashing of the Brumbies by the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

For all the trash talk from Brumbies management in the week about taking a ludicrous three wins from this tour the Brumbies now face the almighty challenge of the undefeated Sharks in Durban next week.

Bernie Larkham will add a bit more to the side on his return, but a bit more is unlikely to be anywhere near enough.

The Lions in Jo’burg in two weeks time might offer some respite, but not much we suspect as that team is not the easybeats of old.

The only real consolation is that the Reds and Waratahs are doing even worse than we are in a terrible year for Australian rugby.

And in a year of upsets we’re only an unlikely four points out of the top four.

Meh..they’ve come a long way & deserve to be doing as well as they are. The days of Sydney being the shining light for Australian Rugby are over (at least for now). I REALLY wish commentators would stop talking about Australian Rugby being in trouble simple because the Pansies & The Reds are not doing well. We have FOUR teams now people (that said, of course the Brumbies could be doing better).

doesnt bode well in a world cup year does it…

Sad state when the Force is the leading light in Australian rugby.

Worries for Brumbies, their big draw for players was the club’s record of producing Wallabies.. if that doesn’t happen the Brumbies might soon feel some of the Raiders hurt.

Mortlock is awesome when playing, but is proving a liability.

Was it just my sleepy/drunken delirium or did we not win a single lineout on our throw in the first half??!!

Am I correct in thinking that the Brumbies suffer an unusually high number of injuries each game?

Seems the Brumbies aren’t the only ones. From news.com.au

“FORMER Australia captain Nick Farr-Jones has bemoaned the lack of basic skills in the New South Wales team after its 16-10 loss to the Stormers in Sydney on Saturday night.”

Unacceptable behaviour in winning the title

Remind me. Why did they sack Nucifora?

Don’t write them off against the Sharks just yet. Like you said, it’s a year of upsets. I reckon all the Super 14 teams are pretty close. Sure, we’re having a disappointing season so far but we’ve still got more than half the season to go – we can come back!

Captain Stirlo out for the rest of S14 with a broken hand.

I’m so glad I didn’t wake up at 2am to watch the game. From the match reports I’ve read it was a error riddled affair and although I could put up with watching such a game when we win I take no joy in watching that sort of loss.
