Chief Minister joins the Circus?

A strange media release from the Chief Minister yesterday pays tribute to the efforts of Circus Oz to let the audience know the show would not be going on following an injury to one of their stars (as reported in the Canberra Times).

At first this puzzled me. I’m sure many people last week were excellent in their customer service. Why is it just the circus getting a Chief Ministerial endorsement?

And then the other shoe dropped… Was the brave man himself planning on a trip to the circus? Had the real world intruded into his insulated life to the point he was so much impressed as to issue a media release?

Or is this another step to the long awaited stanhope.blogspot.com?

LOL, one more thing.

The show we did see was bloody great. I really recommend you check it out, those people are very good at what they do and the hour we saw kept both adults and both kids on the edge of our seats the whole time (never seen a 5 year old sit still for that long before).

Just noticed on his website he reckons they contacted 99% of people….I guess im the 1%, I finally got through to them today to ask what is going on in relation to this refund.
it took me around half an hour and many engaged signals to finally speak to someone.

“the Chief Minister yesterday pays tribute to the efforts of Circus Oz to let the audience know the show would not be going on following an injury to one of their stars “

Umm, is this quote for real?
I went to this show, I saw (with my partner and 2 kids) the guy come out of the cannon and land flat on his back. I saw 4 guys lift this man who was obviously in pain and MOVE HIM. During the intermission, we saw the ambulance go to the back of the tent.
It was incredibly hot in that tent on that day. When we went to go back in after intermission we were told that they have cancelled the show DUE TO THE HEAT, they were worried about the heat affecting the audience and the staff.
I then asked the guy if the stuntman was ok and he laughed it off saying that the guy is tough, the ambulance was just there to check him out and he will be fine.
Then the next day I hear that apparently the guy was in hospital.

Now, Im sorry, but this doesnt equate to “Circus Oz to let the audience know the show would not be going on following an injury to one of their stars “

More bullshit from companies and politicians…doesnt surprise me at all.

Wait a second – he’s actually doing something as Minister for the Arts???

Dear god, this should be front page news…

It’s actually paying tribute to the Cultural Facilities Corporation – a Territory-Owned Corporation, and one he has oversight for as Minister for the Arts.
