Joy Burch is making it known that she’s opened the Chisholm Health Co-op:

The Chisholm Health Co-op is an innovative one-stop shop offering a range of health and support services, including access to bulk-billing, to Tuggeranong residents.

Ms Burch said the capital funding for the clinic was a partnership between the ACT Government, business and the community.

“The ACT Government has provided $200,000 in start-up funding for the new clinic, matched by the West Belconnen Health Cooperative through a donation of $100,000 from the Bendigo Bank and $100,000 from individual Co-op members,” Ms Burch said.

“As a Chisholm resident myself I am pleased I have been able to play a part in bringing this important new service to our local shops, and I hope this is the first of many clinics the Co-op sets up in Tuggeranong.”

The West Belconnen Health Cooperative which runs five other similar centres in Canberra.

The first centre opened in West Belconnen in 2010 and has been followed by centres in Charnwood, Kippax, Page, Evatt and Chisholm with a total of 15,000 patients.

“The clinic will provide medical, nursing and allied health services to the Tuggeranong community, five days a week.

Hopefully we’ll see fewer Tuggeranong bogans and their kids at the Phillip clinic as a result. For people who can’t afford to see a GP and have to go to a bulk billing clinic they sure have plenty of money to spend on cigarettes which they puff on endlessly just outside, forcing normal people to run the gauntlet waving their arms to try and not inhale the deadly fumes.

Plenty of money for tatts as well.

Why do I keep humming the theme music for “Housos”

How Canberran

‘Oh I am sick and tired of areas like Chisholm getting all the money spent on them while the inner north is neglected.’

The glassings still tend to go to the emergency department.

But seriously these health co-ops are very good, we have them up north as well.
