Chisholm shed fire

ACT Fire & Rescue currently on scene at a shed fire on Lucy Gullett Circuit, Chisholm.

Shed is well alight and crews are getting to work to extinguish the fire.

Update to follow.

9:28 AM

Crews have knocked down the fire with the majority of the fire extinguished. Crews are carrying out mopping up operations.

A double garage and garden shed were both ignited with radiant heat damage to a house alongside.

Multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls received from 9.13am.

9:41 AM

Both the double garage and the adjacent neighbouring garden shed on a separate property have been destroyed.

Crews are checking for any fire extension into the adjoining residence which is next to the double garage.

Three Fire Pumpers on scene with the Breathing Apparatus Van and a Command vehicle.

9:55 AM

ACT Fire & Rescue crews are continuing to fully extinguish the fire and are now commencing salvage work.

The three bedroom house has superficial radiant burns only with fire not extending into the wall cavity or roof space.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics are also on scene supporting operations and have treated two patients for smoke inhalation. An elderly female and a middle aged male have been assessed and will not require transport to hospital.

Fire has been extinguished.

Fire cause determination will be carried out.

Given this is RA, I should be totes outraged at the inconsiderate van parking nose-to-kerb in the middle of a residential street and blocking vehicular access.

What if a parent with a pram needs to unload their kid on that side of the suburb?
