I’ve just had this in which I thought could be of use to some of you:

Join for a tour around some of Canberra’s finest Christmas light decorations and help us raise money for Variety – The Children’s Charity.

Michael Dzido and Daniel Hughes are participating in the 2013 ‘to the top’ 4WD explorer – A trip from Cairns to Cape York, raising money for Variety. As a part of their commitment to raise at least $5000.00, Mick and Dan have organised Christmas Light tours with the help of local business Grand Touring Coaches.

The tours will be on Thursday 13, Friday 14 and Saturday 15 December and will be touring Canberra’s North. Let someone else do the driving while you and the kids can sit back and relax while taking in the spectacular sites! Its a great night out for the kids and ALL of the money goes directly to Charity! – Bonus!

Bookings are essential. For more information go to www.facebook.com.au/RangerStacey or call Sabina of Grand Touring Coaches on 6299 1600

A return 4WD trip to Cape York (ex. Canberra) would cost in the order of $5,000 (fuel, accommodation, etc.) – why don’t they just donate the money and stay at home?!…

Good idea… But Michael and I were already thinking of going on the trip, when we found Variety were organising one. The trip will still cost us around $2k each (of our own money).

The $5k is a pure donation to Variety. None of the money raised will help Michael and I get up there.

because this way is more fun
