The Canberra Times has the sad news that a coach from the Cirque du Soleil has been remanded in custody after allegedly trying on some hanky panky with the cleaners at the Pinnacle serviced apartments.

“In a police statement read in court, Bello allegedly admitted kissing both women, but said they were “laughing with him”. He denied holding the woman’s hand.

Asked why the woman would fabricate the incident, he told police, “People seen in the circus are seen as important, so could have been seeking publicity”

Since when did anyone think “people seen in the circus” were important? Magistrate Madden thought the issue serious enough to remand Giuseppe Bello in custody, circus folk being a bit of a flight risk we guess (as well as important).
