The ABC is reporting that more than 18,000 volunteers have taken part in Clean Up Australia day across the ACT which is a turnout of more than 50 per cent from last year.
Kudos to all those involved.
Maybe the media were too focused on economic news etc to run the story.
More like sport, such as which footy player that should be at home in bed but is out at Kings Cross nightclubs getting shot at. Pity the gunman missed….
666 talked to Ian Kiernan about it last week, I think. Maybe the media were too focused on economic news etc to run the story.
I didn’t know it was on either… but then I don’t watch much telly, read newspapers or listen to commericial radio… Hmmmm, no wonder I never know when anything is on!
Good on em. I didn’t even know it was on. Would have helped out otherwise….
More publicity next time.
Send some of those hard working vols up here to Saudi Arabia – the place looks like a dump.
I didn’t even know it was on. I did read something about a clean up happening at Black Mtn but didn’t connect it to CUAD.
Shouldn’t the market be fixing all this mess Ralph??
But, but..ralph – surely you’re not suggesting that actually cleaning up rubbish is more important than, say, going for a walk to stop gorebull warmening?
Good local-based efforts to fix real environmental problems.
Is it a good idea for schools to close in response to COVID-19?
