A. Thanks for proving my point. I’m glad you mentioned flat-earthers, because the inbred heretics who dared challenge the scientific fact (at the time anyway) that the earth was in fact not flat, but round, met with exactly the same vitriol delivered to people who dare question the religion of CC/FE.
B. I drew the parrallel because there isn’t enough data to accurately predict either. I’m aware they are different. However, with enough funding I’m sure the CC industry can remain employed long enough to provide an irrefutable answer. Or produce results that would best be examined. (With more funding, of course)I know it will be colder in June. That’s due to the planetary orbit and such. Not climate change, or are you claiming it is?
C. Some of it’s there. Much of it is (A) against those who dare interpret it in a manner that doesn’t support the funding cycles the CC industry require.

Just provide some clear evidence. With all the taxpayer funds consumed in the crusade there should be plenty of it. Hang on, man-bear-pig is knocking on the door….

“It isn’t like they have ever made a post on Riot ACT that wasn’t full of invective.”
A post with a new word to learn, now that’s interesting.

1. vehement or violent denunciation, censure, or reproach.
2. a railing accusation; vituperation.
3. an insulting or abusive word or expression.
–adjective
4. vituperative; denunciatory; censoriously abusive.

I think WMC’s comments have to be taken in context though. It isn’t like they have ever made a post on Riot ACT that wasn’t full of invective.

On a more serious note though, whether you believe in climate change or not, people should have the maturity to debate the topic without resorting to personal attacks like the one from Woody Mann-Caruso.

Science is about debate. It should be debated.

Unless this happens, we will all be worse off. If climate change turns out to be a real danger the world faces, the CC activists are making it worse by not allowing the science community as a whole to all come to the same conclusion and work on a solution.

A. Stupidity deserves to be pointed out and shouted down wherever it rears its but ugly head. Dumbarses like you thrive in the weed-invested cracks of fair hearings. “You have to respect my views!” No, I don’t, any more than I have to entertain views that super lizard Nazis live at the centre of the earth, which is flat. Come back with some science, some evidence, something peer-reviewed, and we’ll be all ears. Scientists love to be wrong. All you’ve got is the tabloid press.

haha. You have proved Fisho’s point exactly with this reply! brilliant.

Gee Fisho, didn’t you realise the mistake you were making by disagreeing with WMC. I’m +1 with you – wait for it…..

Woody Mann-Caruso 9:49 pm 03 Mar 09

B. Weather is not climate. If you knew what you were talking about, you’d know that.
I can’t tell you the temp tomorrow, but I can tell you it will be colder in June.

C. It’s already there. Learn to use Google.

Fisho 9:04 pm 03 Mar 09

You don’t have to worry about climate change because we all died in the late 90’s due to the hole in the ozone. You aren’t really reading this, you’re a character in a Lost-like tv show.

I’d be less sceptical of climate change if …
A. anyone who provides scientific data questioning CC isn’t attacked on a personal level and blacklisted by the CC industry, rather than having their data refuted on a scientific level. Much like the other fashionable crusade, National and Marine Parks.
B. Climatologists can predict *today’s* weather with more accuracy than mere blind luck. Never mind next centuries weather patterns. If the data and tech isn’t accurate for small scale predictions I’m not interested in large scale harum scarum.
C. Clear data from available records (mud cores, ice cores, fossil records etc) can be provided to show the *rate* of climate change/CO2 etc is unmatched in natural history, cross referenced to the normal intraglacial planetary cycles.

I’m not skeptical about climate change myself, but I’ve met enough climate change skeptics to know that ‘personally trained by Al Gore’ is a sure-fire turn off for many unbelievers. (You would think that a professional promoter of the topic would know that.)

IMO Gore’s movie did great disservice to the acceptance of the science around climate change. Many people have chosen to accept or reject climate change based on their view about its principal publicists such as Gore, the liberal left, the Greens etc. Very few I’ve met reject it on well-researched scientific grounds.

She might as well be ‘personally trained by Paris Hilton’ for all the credibility mentioning Gore’s name gives her among what (I assume) is her target audience.

bigfeet 5:49 pm 03 Mar 09

“filter out the white noise and misinformation?”

and

“a Climate Project presenter, personally trained by Al Gore”

are two mutually exclusive statements.

Loose Brown 4:50 pm 03 Mar 09

I’ll be there. Who’s up for a drink at the Front afterwards to discuss?

barking toad 3:37 pm 03 Mar 09

And no doubt the personally trained disciple will be showing “An Inconvenient Truth”. Profit Al’s movie – the one which a British judge determined contained factually incorrect and misleading information.

R. Slicker 2:26 pm 03 Mar 09

Oh, God! Can we kill off this “climate change” crap altogether, please?

jakez 1:43 pm 03 Mar 09

I guess she must be ‘super serial’ about climate change then.

Pommy bastard 1:06 pm 03 Mar 09

Dr Karin Geiselhart , a Climate Project presenter, personally trained by Al Gore,

I didn’t know he did personal training too. : )
