Foxsports reports that the Raider’s Clinton Schifcokske is leaving the team to enter the wonderful world of Rugby Union with the Queensland Reds.

A rugby retirement in Japan was apparently the financial sweetener for him, but lord knows there’s plenty of opportunity to be had with the Reds.

Except he’s never played the game. And as for Eddie JONES. Well he promoted a twit named Al BAXTER who wouldn’t know a scrum if it bit him on the arse, and now our pathetic scrum is the result.

Clinton was a very good league player but I don’t think he’ll succeed in union, and playing for the Reds on its own is no measure of success

To me he seems to be more in that mould of union player who has gone league… instead of just a leaguey

VG – that would belittle Eddie Jones’s ability to pick players. I think Clinton will be very good in union – In fact I think he is better suited

Why is it that he thinks he will master a game he’s never played before?

Might as well have signed up a local league player in Brisbane for 1/10th of the price. He will get smashed, for starters he needs to have an open field kicking game of some description.

Wow, from one losing team to another losing team!

Good luck, Clinton.

Next year the APC kicks off so it’s going to be a lot busier for those players on the fringe of the Wallabies.

Probably a good move by Schifcokske, he’ll extend his shelf-life in the game by a few years I’d say. The Reds need some “old-heads” even if they do hail from league – they’ve got a great crop of promising youngsters, but it *is* a very young team.

Don’t blame Clinton… but seems everone is trying to leave the ACT. Wasn’t he the move to Canberra ambassador? Hell Stanhope can’t even convince the ambassador to stay…..maybe Corbell talk the LDA into offering him a $300k plot of land for $150K. Stanhope can make him immune from drink driving, Barr can call him a Kangaroo and offer a deal, maybe he can replace Giteau and play for both Brumbies and Raiders (Super 14 is only part time – season is already over)
