Recieved this little annoucement in the mail the other day for all those missing out on their overseas beats.

Hello! Hallo! Salut! Bonjour! Hola!

GRAND OPENING WEEK

Thursday 10 May 2007
Friday 11 May 2007
Saturday 12 May 2007

I am writing to tell you about the re-opening of Club Mombasa. When Club
Mombasa shut its doors in February 2007, a lot of fans felt the closing
marked a downturn for African, Latin Reggae and World Music in Canberra.

With a new management team now in place, I felt it was the perfect time to
get back into this music business again. “Many people thought it was a
terrible thing to close club Mombasa …. NO !!!! I believe it’s not a
terrible sign but a window of opportunity to improve”.

“I had been thinking about doing something different for club Mombasa for a
while, the rebirth of the club will focus on the type of music club Mombasa
is well known for”.

Although I would like to say that the new look club Mombasa is merely
continuing in the tradition of the old Mombasa but the new club will have a
decidedly different feel than its predecessor.

The warmth of the people that come to Mombasa, the atmosphere and of course
our VARIETY of MUSIC all combine to make Club Mombasa a legendary place. And
Club Mombasa is proud to be a part of that link in our continued efforts to
promote diversity and culture throughout the world.

Club Mombasa remains committed to promoting and exposing world music to the
people of Canberra and the world, and with your continued support, we will
continue to achieve that goal.

A shite hole with no A/C. Terrible place. Keeps on closing down.

Go to Company nite club in Manuka for some latin raggae dancing.

what a shame.

So… Did Awkward already go under? Or is Mombasa opened in a new place?

sports jacket? It really doesn’t go with native costume.
