Comrade wins Bravery Medal

Thumper 7 July 2005 3

No link as I can’t find anything at present but our fearless leader recently was awared the Royal Humane Society Bronze medal for bravery for his efforts to help/ save the downed chopper pilot in Bendora dams during the 2003 fires.

Whilst being a strident critic of Mr Stanhope I would have to congratulate him on this.

What’s Your opinion?

Fair call Thumper, there are hundreds of folks not quite as ‘high profile’ who’s actions deserve to be noted and applauded. Not just Emergency Services personnel, but John and Jane Citizen who dropped all to help their friends, neighbours and strangers alike.

You have to take into consideration that it takes two or so years from nomination to awarding of such a medal.

As such I have no problem with it.

I do have a problem with the fact that a lot of volunteers during the fires should have been nominated and awarded bravery medals.

Anyway, pub time, I’ll write some more about this later.

yeah, yeah. well done & all that.
but wasn’t that sooooo two years ago?
how long can the bloke dine out on it?
will we see it in Labor’s snappy campaign ads in the next election?
Or will Stanhope concentrate on the wonderful job he’s doing eliminating gay whale abuse in Timor?
