Construction started on the Boundless Canberra Inclusive Playground. A playground that is designed to be accessible for all children.
Katy Gallagher today turned the first sod in one of those odd ceremonies that I don’t understand.
Nevertheless, building an inclusive playground is a very cool thing.
“Boundless Canberra is a fantastic statement of how this city provides for everyone and will be a unique space where children of all abilities can play together,” the Chief Minister said.
“This playground has struck a chord with all parts of our community and the turning of the sod today is a tangible sign of the progress being made to build this playground.”
Boundless Canberra – a Centenary of Canberra project – will be designed so that it is accessible to all children, allowing them to play together in the same environment.
The project was kick started with a $50,000 donation from the Canberra Centenary fund and has drawn contributions of more than $500,000 in cash and in kind from across the community.
