The ESA is warning that they’re blazing up at three locales across town tomorrow in an attempt to get fuel loads down while the fire danger is low:

The ACT Territory and Municipal Services directorate (TAMS) will conduct three controlled burns tomorrow, Friday 13 January, 2012 weather permitting at Coppins Crossing in Belconnen, Gossan Hill Nature Reserve in Bruce and Urambi Hills Nature Reserve in Kambah.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for burns are J11 for the Coppins Crossing burn, K11 at the Gossan Hill Nature Reserve burn and J14 at the Urambi Hills Nature Reserve burn.

Someone spent a bit of money installing an irrigation system for the cows on Urambi Hills. Shame they moved them after 4 weeks and have decided to burn instead.

That being said, its good they are going something about the fuel load in Canberra.

I can smell it.
