Joy Burch has announced an effort to count the number of homeless people in Canberra.
The ACT Government is marking National Homeless Persons’ Week with its most thorough count to date of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Canberra, ACT Minister for Community Services Joy Burch announced today.
“This initiative being carried out in collaboration with First Point, our Central Intake for Homelessness Services, will give us a much clearer indication of the extent and circumstances of people who are homeless and the conditions they are enduring,” Ms Burch said.
If you’re looking to get a low number now is certainly the time of year for it.
One also has to wonder how many couch surfers they’re going to pick up in the count.
