CPSU takeover of the ACT ALP boils over

The ABC brings word that next week’s Labor Party ACT branch annual general meeting is on hold after intervention by the party’s national executive.

The delay has been caused by the newly affiliated public servants union (the CPSU) appealing over the number of delegates to which they are entitled. Something that threatens to radically alter the balance of power within the party. It seems unlikely the CPSU is going to the trouble to appeal for LESS delegates.

The national executive is apparently also displeased over the price extracted from the sale of the licensed Labor Clubs, and something called “concerns over local branch administration” which might just have something to do with strange resignations of branch secretaries.

As to you George, keep squeaking.

Should we suggest you keep on yapping? 🙂

Hmmmm, I wonder where thesource1980, disenfranchised, muFasa, maryhow, YapYapYap are? That’s right, they only come out when the Liberals are in disarray.

The ALP’s infighting and factionalism make the Libs look amateurish when it comes to party matters.

Hell George, give us a chance. This makes Labor look as bad as the Libs; a truely bewildering state of affairs. To reiterate, I have no party affiliations; not something that can be said by the rump of the pro-Lib spinners who post here – they’re clearly party hacks.

I simply loathe conservatives.

As to you George, keep squeaking.

$20 mill for a profitable business with little or no debt. How exactly do you price a group of licenced clubs? (that you are going to sell to yourself)

What’s interesting is that this stuff, which is fairly common, has received media coverage. That means somebody’s leaking.

Of course you know what this means…. This means war!

Union lackeys – who gives a crap?

Given the likely demographic makeup of ACT ALP voters, it doesn’t seem untoward that the CPSU ought to have a significant say in the running of the local party.
