Dear fellow Canberrans,

I need your help!!

I was involved in a minor hit and run in Canberra (Civic) on the early hours of Sunday 7th of November.

The lovely Cab driver not only pulled out and caused the accident but also fled the scene leaving me with the damage bill!

Unfortunately I didn’t get a rego plates or Cab number as it happened so quick.

All I am asking is to be on the look out for a white “Canberra Cab” with red paint/damage to the drivers side rear (bottom of car near where petrol thingy is)

I am willing to offer a reward if you successfully provide the details to me.

Please call 1300 855 633.

Thanking you all in advance 🙂

Your best bet when complaining about our wonderful Cabbages is to contact Mr Steve Whiteman or Bill Bellew at Aerial. The other option is to complain to the Commercial and Public Transport section of the ACT Government. Remember before looking at the damage look at the Cabbage that hit you…. Note the Plate and the time. Then call Aerial on 62071500. If the cabbage is CabExpress…. Then you will need to call CabExpress.

If you need a car to or from the airport your bees bet is a Hire Car. Canberra Hire cars is good on 61261577, hope this helps

Wow, I hate taxi drivers i see so many speeding with passengers. The first Canberra taxi i was in taking me from the airport to home ran up the gutter a couple times and over a few rounder bouts. That was worse than a roller coaster ride. They need to enforce stricter rules on taxi drivers. They are worse than P plate drivers.

Next step is convinding the insurance company that you haven’t made it all up.

The cabs have GPS tracking, I would contact the company and get them to look into it. You may need to produce the police report you would have filed after the accident to get action though.

Which reminds me I intended to log a complaint against one cabbie who turned up with the cab stinking of cigarette smoke (sorry, the wound-down windows didn’t help), no ID card, and who made not one but SIX phone calls between Lyneham and Civic. While driving.

BTW, did you contact the taxi co and report it?

May well have fled as his visa ran out….
