Much has been written about Clea Rose since she died in 2005, hit by a car stolen by teenagers being chased by police.
Since then one of the kids in the stolen car, known only as “Clea Rose’s Killer” has lead a spectacular life of crime, made all the more amazing by his ability to get out of detention to commit more crimes.
The ABC reports that the star of today’s police wrap is the very same young man.
Magistrate Lorraine Walker has refused him bail.

You may be right. If so, I’m pretty sure it’d be his problem, not mine.
“The media can’t publish his name because of the crime he committed when he was legally a child. However, his name appears in the court reports which are online, so a small amount of effort with Google and some thought will enable you to figger things out without too much trouble.
I’d like to meet him one day.”
If the ACT Criminal Justice System has its way, you will get your wish. In your car, house or bedroom.
OMG CRK has PTSD, WTF do we care, DH go C the AMC clinic or 10-56.
Did depression+ PTSD make him a un-remorseful, serious crime, repeat offender ? No likely, those are not the symptoms that I read ..
…also he didn’t need to learn to be a welder to break out of AMC, an “improvised flame” (is that a cigarette lighter ?) is all you need, then try you chances on the Monaro.

Put it this way Canardly, there is a football player who struts his stuff for Carlisle United called Bradley Potts. He may or may not have the same name….
Cue another response from Sez supporting this dude in in….3….2….1….. rolling….
So he did time, got out and did another round of bad things. What excuse has he got now?
I wonder if any folk out there in RA land actually know who this dude is. Or is it all private because of what he did to CR?

If we could rehabilitate CRK he would certainly be a ‘good win’ for the system. If we can save him (from himself) then we can save anyone.
Otherwise, lets just give him a permanent booking at the AMC. Give him an xbox and some pot and lock him away for the rest of his life.

yep. boohoo. you have depression while a young woman at the start of her life now is rotting in the ground and her family are probably destroyed emotionaly becuase of it.
Who is worse of in this scenario?
Let this POS rot.

Now now JB it would appear that he has had some sort of epiphany and developed a conscience so with your support i wish to nominate him for the ‘Young Australian of the Year Award’.There could be no more worthy recipient surely??

yes but he’s a changed man now. *rolls eyes*
and now he has PTSD and depression….
What about the Rose family…?
yes it’s all our fault he did all those horrible things to all those people who had done him no wrong at all.
I don’t know. I’ve met a few girls that sounded like Sez and I swear they had balls!! LOL

But gilrs like Sez can’t grow a pair.
Sez009 hate to say this but people like you REALLY p!ss me off!!! You call yourself this guy’s friend and then blow smoke up his @ss by justifying his criminal actions. You say you care about him and how a much of a decent bloke he is but do you ever say how much you think he’s screwing his life up by doing these criminal actions? Do you ever tell him how disappointed you are in him for not cleaning his life up? No instead, you’re the one focussing on his worst crime and using that as an excuse for his actions. “Oh poor CRK it’s ok I understand you had to commit all those crimes. I mean, what more can we expect after that horrible accident”. Here’s a parting thought. How about you grow a pair, be his REAL friend and tell him exactly what he is and how that is effecting everyone around him (let alone the community) and how he’s forfeiting his life by continuing this path. Maybe with less smoke up there something might get through to him.

The problems with this idea are many, not the least of which being the army doesn’t want to be a baby sitting service for the dregs of society. The US military has the advantage (in this respect at least) of being *huge*, so can absorb a lot more of this kinda thing. Personally I wish we had options like this in Australia too, but I think instituting something similar to giving people the choice between jail or the marines is a little more complex then simply forcing the army to accept them.
Maybe we could make the police take them?
This thread makes me sad, there are no winners apart from a few blowhards making themselves feel good.
Hey sez, I wonder if CRK would have benefited from a sentence that incorporated a stint in the army, maybe three years when he turned 17 and they could have taught him a trade like truck driving or to be a mechanic.
In the States it used to be common for young men going off the rails to receive a stint in the Marines, didn’t alaways work but did sometimes.
Sure worked well, a few are out already!!!
