The CT is reporting that the forecast storms have spared Canberra.

I guess they assume the Belco area isn’t part of Canberra, because the ESA has a little different to say.

That said, was a night for clearing trees from on top of cars – they don’t normally have as good aim as we saw tonight – three direct hits.

True, it was no Yasi, but was a little atmospheric for a while.

I reckon the storm was a remnant of Cyclone Anthony, I was following it on the BOM radar.

CT is a waste of paper, can’t be too long before it folds Ha Ha.

Typical inaccurate BS from the worst newspaper in the western world. Last night’s storm was far worse than Cyclone Yasi. I went out in the early morning to drive to Tuggers pool and it was a scene of total devastation. It was worse than Hiroshima after the atomic bomb.

If the orange-tinged clouds were around after dark then they were probably low hanging clouds reflecting the street lights of our fair city. (aka light pollution.)

In Kingston and the Griffith area, the storm really hit hard. Was quite amazing.

And would someone be able to inform as to why a lot of the clouds had a red, orange brown tinge to ’em?

Thought it must’ve been due to the heat and things being dry…
