Why does this not surprise me?
They should also be required to pay the medical costs of patrons assaulted there.

A knee jerk reaction (I would say)

So drink prices will go through the roof and punters will buy a carton and stay home.
Won’t that be fun

Why does this not surprise me?
Night clubs should be given safety ratings based on the number of assaults that have occurred there. They should also be required to pay the medical costs of patrons assaulted there. A few hits on heir public liability insurance should make them start to take patron safety seriously. I’ve heard so often that when people start arcing up staff don’t deal with the situation particularly well, or deal with it with too much violence.
You’d be a mug to be in some of Canberra’s nightclubs past 10pm these days.
