David Eastman loses again

Some may doubt if David Eastman killed Colin Winchester.

No-one however, except possibly David Eastman, doubts he is a vexatious litigant and an unpleasant nutter.

And as he whiles away his life in the Monaro Marriot perhaps he should consider that as he always loses with his legal stratagems maybe he should devote himself to another pursuit.

Today the Supreme Court has published their reasons for throwing out Mr Eastman’s latest efforts to make the lives of his jailers even more miserable.

A convicted murderer in prison trying to use the courts to punish those who refer to him as a murderer is a very special thing.

It’s a good read, and will fill your heart with sympathy for the workers at the AMC.

Did anybody see today’s local 7:30 report?

I had a suspicion from the beginning it could be a case of grab the local nutter and let him dig his own hole.

Apart from that???

Well, yeah. I know it sounds funny, but I gather he was well known to the cops and others for many years before killing Winchester. I was just wondering what he was up to that pissed so many people off before he decided to get a little trigger time.

I’ve been hearing for years about what an arsehole Eastman is, but I’ve never actually run across anybody who knew him, worked with him, lived near him etc who could describe what he was really like as a person.

Apart from being a vexatious litigant and murderer, what else did Eastman actually do on a day-to-day basis before killing Winchester to get everybody so offside and have such a bad rep with the cops?

I worked with people who knew him. Apparently parents were odd – when he was a kid they would lock him in his room & go out for the night – no thought of babysitters.

He used to visit a friend’s house, sit down 7 watch TV then take over the controls.

No social skills with other people, a bully & a violent temper – but not a murderer.

I know this has been said before but:

What if he were innocent and what would happen then?

Monaro Marriot??? Whatever happened to the Hume Hilton? I would have thought the Marriott was at Mitchell, for the youngsters…

I think this article on the AFP website originally comes from the Canberra Times: http://www.afp.gov.au/media-centre/publications/platypus/previous-editions/1999/october-1999/murder.aspx

It hints at the issues with Mr Eastman’s behaviour – what started out as a dispute with a neighbour, ends up in him killing the chief of police many years later.

The TV show about it is also informative http://www.ovguide.com/tv_episode/crime-investigation-australia-season-3-episode-8-cop-killer-the-winchester-assassination-1052351 – someone may be able to post a Torrent for it?

I often wonder why no-one has written a book about it – are they frightened of litigation?

And just think how many neighbours he has in the AMC.

Interesting, the courts ordered Eastman to pay costs.. exactly how does he do that, when he is in jail for life?

I am still at a loss as to why those that have infringed the civil rights of others are entitled to any at all.

Well, theyre entitled to basic human rights as any human is, but the whole point of jail is to lose some of the rights and responsibilities the rest of society has.

If Eastman was as smart as he thinks he is he’d be a free man

Another one whinging about cigarette smoke, and also happens to be a nutter? Happens often.

He probably claimed he was allergic too…
