The SMH has a snippet on a 56 year old man being found dead on Captain Cook Crescent in Griffith last night.

Not thought to be suspicious apparently.

UPDATE: The AFP media release is now online and begs the question: Shorts in this weather?

ACT Policing is currently investigating the death of a fifty-six year old male who was found Sunday evening (September 5) on Captain Cook Crescent in Griffith.

The male was wearing a khaki polo shirt and khaki shorts, he had a solid build and grey receding hair. The cause of death is unknown at this stage however police are not treating it as suspicious.

Police urge anyone who may have seen this male on Captain Cook Crescent around 7pm on Sunday evening to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

I wouldn’t be seen dead in Griffith.

It’s no longer Winter. And I was in 3/4 pants 2 weekends ago. It’s not all that cold out 🙂

“Nothing suss”…

Yeah, right.

Maybe the head had a lawful excuse for being there……Duh, lol!

My two cents says that the Captain Cook Crescent death was a heroin overdose or something like that.

“No suspicious circumstances” – police jargon for suicide.

often the case, but also used for death by natural causes, which is just as likely in this case. jogging is a very dangerous activity…

Yeah, right.

@WFG “Not Suspicious” is actually police jargon for “Not Suspicious” ie no criminality suspected eg every type of death other than murder/manslaughter.

buzz819 is right – either natural causes (tends to happen quite often) or suicide. Then again, wasn’t that the position of the Warren Commission in 1964 – ‘nothing to indicate anyone else involved’.

Now, if there’s a grassy knoll anywhere nearby………………………..

Hmm I don’t know about you, but a heart attack is not suspicious, dying from the elements is not suspicious. What they mean is they do not believe that someone else killed him, is that better?

nothing suspicious about a dead person on the road at all … -.-

sounds to me like they know what the cause most likely was they just need to confirm it.
